3D construction

How many 3D printed houses are there?

As of 2026, there is no single, exact global count of 3D-printed houses, as the industry is growing rapidly and consists of projects ranging from small prototypes to large-scale residential developments.

While it is difficult to provide a precise number, here is a summary of the industry's scale:

Global Inventory: A previous industry study identified at least 129 3D-printed buildings across 105 sites globally. However, given the rapid adoption of this technology over the past several years, the current number is certainly higher.

Rapid Scaling: New projects are being launched constantly. For instance, major developments in places like Texas feature entire neighborhoods of 3D-printed homes—such as the Wolf Ranch subdivision, which includes 100 printed houses. Other facilities are now projecting production capacities of up to 7,000 housing units annually.

Industry Growth: The market is transitioning from "experimental" to "practical". It is projected to reach a value of over US$2 billion in 2026, with a high compound annual growth rate (CAGR) as it gains traction as a solution for global housing shortages.

In short, while we are past the era of having only a few isolated prototypes, we are still in the early stages of mass-market adoption. The total count is now in the hundreds and is expected to climb into the thousands very quickly as more residential developments are completed.
