Custom jigs fixtures and manufacturing tooling in South Africa

PURPOSE-BUILT PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Custom Jigs, Fixtures & Tooling

Improve repeatability, assembly, inspection and workshop efficiency with tooling designed around the actual task.

We combine measurements, CAD, 3D printing and specialist fabrication to create practical production aids. Every jig or fixture starts with the operator, component, process and accuracy requirement.

MAKE THE PROCESS EASIER TO REPEAT

Good tooling removes ambiguity from work.

A useful jig or fixture locates the part correctly, controls the important movement and makes the intended process easier to perform consistently. It should also be safe, maintainable and practical for the operator.

We can work from CAD, sample components, measurements, sketches or a scan. The final route may use engineering polymers, inserts, hardware, metal fabrication or a combination.

WHAT WE DELIVER

Built around the real requirement.

The route is selected around the job, the evidence required and the final operating or presentation conditions.

Assembly and alignment jigs
01

Assembly and alignment jigs

Locate components and control repeatable positioning during assembly or bonding.

Inspection and checking fixtures
02

Inspection and checking fixtures

Create practical go/no-go checks, reference nests and measurement supports.

Drilling and work-holding aids
03

Guide operations and hold awkward parts more safely and consistently.

Custom tooling and end effectors
04

Custom tooling and end effectors

Develop grippers, mounts, templates and production aids around a specific process.

DESIGNED AROUND THE REAL WORKFLOW

From process problem to approved tool.

We verify the task and control points before choosing the material or manufacturing method.

  1. 01

    Observe and define

Document the part, operator steps, datum points, forces, accuracy and cycle frequency.

  2. 02

    Design the tool

Develop CAD around the approved process and include hardware, wear points and access.

  3. 03

    Prototype and trial

Build a sample where useful and test fit, ergonomics and repeatability with the real component.

  4. 04

    Release and document

Produce the approved tool and retain the digital basis for replacement or revision.

DESIGN FOR USE, NOT APPEARANCE

The best fixture is the one the team can use correctly.

Accuracy, stiffness and durability matter, but so do loading access, cleaning, storage and replacement of wear components. These inputs belong in the brief.

A STRONG FIT

Custom tooling adds value when:

  • The same task is repeated frequently
  • Alignment or operator consistency is difficult
  • A part is awkward to hold or inspect
  • Scrap, rework or cycle time needs improvement
  • Legacy tooling is missing or unavailable

DEFINE THE LIMITS

Critical tools need explicit engineering inputs.

  • State loads, temperatures and chemical exposure
  • Identify safety-critical use before design begins
  • Provide the real mating component where possible
  • Agree wear parts and maintenance needs
  • Validate critical dimensions before release

CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT

Jig and fixture questions, answered.

Can you copy an existing jig?

Yes. We can work from the original tool, reference components, measurements or 3D scanning, then reproduce or improve the design as agreed.

What materials can be used?

Depending on load and environment, options may include engineering polymers, resin, aluminium, steel, inserts, bearings, fasteners and bought-in components.

Can a printed jig be used in production?

Yes, when the design and material suit the forces, temperature, wear and required accuracy. Higher-risk tooling may need metal reinforcement or another process.

Do you need the physical part?

A reliable CAD model may be enough, but the real part is valuable for irregular geometry, fit trials and validation. The intake will determine what evidence is required.

CONTROL THE TASK

Describe the process problem, not only the tool.

Let AI gather the component, workflow, accuracy, environment and quantity so we can recommend the right solution.

WhatsApp and phone remain available for urgent follow-up after your enquiry is logged.

Plan the project correctly

Getting an accurate jigs, fixtures and production tooling quotation

Create practical tools that improve repeatability, positioning, inspection, assembly and shop-floor efficiency.

What determines the scope

Tooling must be designed around the real process. Show us the component, operator sequence, required accuracy, loads, chemicals, heat exposure and expected cycles so the design and material are fit for use.

Create It 3D coordinates the appropriate manufacturing route and supports projects across South Africa. Final pricing and lead time are confirmed after the technical information, files, quantity and delivery requirements have been reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Jigs, Fixtures & Tooling FAQs

What information is needed to design a jig or fixture?
Provide the real component, drawings where available, the operation being performed, datum points, repeatability target, operator sequence and expected production volume.
Can tooling include metal hardware or other components?
Yes. Depending on the application, a tool can combine printed bodies with threaded inserts, fasteners, magnets, bearings, pins, clamps or machined parts.
Can you reproduce an existing damaged fixture?
Often yes. The original can be measured or scanned, then repaired or improved in CAD before a replacement is manufactured.
