Precision starts before the beam

The cleanest laser result begins with the right file and material decision.

Laser work can look deceptively simple. In practice, material type, thickness, coating, focus, power, speed, passes, airflow and support all influence the finish.

We prepare the artwork, select the appropriate laser route and test where needed so the cut or mark suits the real object—not just the preview on screen.

How we work

From artwork to a repeatable physical result.

We remove uncertainty early by checking the file, substrate and finish before the full run begins.

  1. 01

    Confirm material and outcome

We identify whether the priority is a cut edge, visible mark, depth, contrast, durability or fine detail.

  2. 02

    Prepare the artwork

Vectors, line weights, layout, scale and engraving zones are cleaned and arranged for production.

  3. 03

    Test and calibrate

Where appropriate, focus, speed, power, passes and support are checked on the actual material or a representative sample.

  4. 04

    Produce and finish

The job is cut or engraved, cleaned and checked, then packed for collection or nationwide delivery.

Laser cutting and engraving FAQs

Material, thickness, artwork, quantity and finish determine the correct laser route and production setup.

Which materials can you laser cut or engrave?

Capability depends on the exact material, thickness, coating and desired finish. Common candidates include suitable acrylics, timber products, card, leather, coated or anodised metals and selected plastics. We confirm compatibility before production.

Can you laser cut metal?

Metal cutting capability depends on metal type and thickness and is not the same as metal marking. Send the specification so we can confirm the appropriate route or recommend fabrication.

What file format should I send?

Vector artwork such as SVG, DXF, AI or a clean PDF is usually best for cutting and line work. If your artwork is not production-ready, we can quote to prepare it.

Can you engrave bottles, tumblers or rings?

Many suitable cylindrical and ring-shaped items can be engraved with a rotary attachment. Diameter, surface, taper, coating and artwork position must be checked first.

Can you produce one item or a full batch?

Yes. We support once-off gifts and prototypes as well as repeat runs. Setup, testing and artwork preparation may make larger quantities more cost-efficient.

Will every material engrave to the same colour?

No. The result depends on the substrate, coating and laser interaction. Samples or a material test are recommended when colour and contrast are critical.

Can you help create the artwork?

Yes. We can clean or recreate simple artwork, convert suitable designs to vectors and prepare cut lines, engraving zones and layouts for production.

Do you deliver laser-cut and engraved work nationwide?

Yes. We can courier completed work across South Africa, with packing planned around fragile finishes and the size of the items.
