Replacement parts and maintenance
Capture discontinued housings, brackets, covers, fittings and mechanical components so they can be repaired, redesigned or reproduced.
Nationwide scan-to-CAD support
Professional 3D scanning, reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD support for businesses, engineers, product developers and individuals across South Africa. Start with photos, dimensions and the outcome you need; we then plan digital scoping, safe movement of the object where suitable, capture, modelling and delivery.
3D scanning capability
Scanning is only the first decision. We define whether you need a raw or cleaned mesh, an editable parametric model, a modified replacement part, dimensional references or a complete printed result.
Capture accessible geometry for digital reference, measurement, visualisation, reproduction or downstream modelling. The scanner and capture method are chosen around object size, surface, detail and required accuracy.
Convert scan data into clean, editable CAD when dimensions must be controlled, features rebuilt or a part prepared for repeat manufacture. Deliverables can include STL, OBJ, STEP or IGES where appropriate.
Recreate unavailable, damaged or obsolete components and incorporate sensible changes for fit, strength, assembly or a new manufacturing process. Critical dimensions and intended use are confirmed before quoting.
Manage the complete route from physical object and scan capture through mesh cleanup, CAD reconstruction, prototype checks and a finished FDM or resin print.
Project applications
Projects range from small broken components to product development, tooling, heritage capture and larger commercial objects. The final use determines the required accuracy and modelling effort.
Capture discontinued housings, brackets, covers, fittings and mechanical components so they can be repaired, redesigned or reproduced.
Digitise hand-made forms, competitor references, ergonomic shapes and prototype components for controlled iteration in CAD.
Create reference geometry for jigs, fixtures, moulds, patterns, inspection aids and production improvements.
Preserve sculptures, artefacts, body forms and complex surfaces for archiving, scaling, restoration or digital fabrication.
Scanning workflow
Most jobs can be scoped before anything moves. This reduces unnecessary courier costs and prevents the wrong scanning or CAD deliverable from being commissioned.
Provide clear photos from several angles, approximate dimensions, location, deadline, intended use and the file or physical result required.
We assess geometry, surface, access and accuracy, then define whether the object travels, a project-specific capture visit is required, and which files will be supplied.
The object is captured and the data is aligned, cleaned or reconstructed in CAD according to the approved scope and critical features.
We review the agreed checks, issue the digital files and, where included, move into prototyping or production and coordinated delivery.
Nationwide coverage
Digital project intake and courier planning support Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Northern Cape. Mobile capture is assessed separately when an object cannot travel.

↗3D scanning questions
Important details to confirm before requesting a scan, reverse-engineering model or replacement part.
Yes. Send the project location, photos, dimensions and deliverable required. Suitable objects can be couriered, while non-movable objects are assessed for a project-specific capture route.
Send clear multi-angle photos, approximate size, surface or material, access limitations, accuracy needs, deadline and whether you need a mesh, editable CAD, modification or printed part.
Often, yes. We assess what geometry remains, which dimensions are critical and whether missing features can be reconstructed from mating parts, measurements or design intent.
Common outputs include STL or OBJ meshes and STEP or IGES CAD, but the correct format depends on how the file will be edited, manufactured, inspected or visualised.
Potential mobile capture is assessed case by case. Object size, site access, surfaces, accuracy, travel and project value must be reviewed before it can be confirmed.
Project intake
Photos, dimensions and the intended use let us recommend the correct capture, CAD and manufacturing route and prepare a meaningful written quotation.
