Returns & Refund Policy

This Returns and Refund Policy applies to physical products purchased through https://createit3d.co.za . Custom services such as 3D printing, scanning, CAD design, rapid prototyping, and fabrication are governed separately and may not qualify for standard returns.

1. Your Rights Under South African Law

Customers are protected under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act. This policy does not limit your statutory rights.

2. Cooling-Off Period (Non-Defective Products)

If you change your mind about a product purchased online, you may return it within 7 days of delivery in accordance with the ECT Act.

Conditions:

  • The product must be unused.
  • The product must be in original, unopened packaging.
  • All accessories, manuals, and components must be included.
  • Proof of purchase is required.

Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer.

Refunds will be processed once the item has been inspected and confirmed to be in resalable condition.

3. Faulty or Defective Products

If a product is defective within 6 months of delivery, you may return it in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.

Once the item is assessed and confirmed defective, we will offer one of the following remedies:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund

If no defect is found during assessment, the item will be returned to you.

Damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, modification, or normal wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing defect.

4. Products Damaged in Transit

Please inspect your parcel upon delivery.

If visible damage is present:

  • Note the damage with the courier immediately.
  • Notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

Failure to report shipping damage within 24 hours may affect eligibility for replacement.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return unless defective:

  • Opened consumables (including filament and resin)
  • Custom-made or special-order products
  • Digital files or design services
  • Commissioned 3D printed parts

6. Services & Custom Manufacturing

Services such as 3D printing, scanning, CAD design, prototyping, fabrication, and engineering work are considered custom services.

Due to the nature of custom manufacturing, these services are non-refundable once production has commenced, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

If an error is determined to be caused by Create It 3D (Pty) Ltd, we will remedy the issue in good faith.

7. Refund Processing

Once a return is approved and processed:

  • Refunds will be issued via the original payment method.
  • Please allow 7–10 business days for funds to reflect.

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defect.

8. Warranty

Hardware products such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser engravers are covered by manufacturer warranties where applicable.

Warranty claims are handled according to the manufacturer’s terms and may require technical assessment.
