Over time, minor tracking drift, transport bumps, or temperature swings can affect internal alignment.
Fortunately, calibrating a Creality scanner (such as the Raptor, Otter, or Ferret series) is a straightforward process when using the official glass calibration board included in your package.
Step 1:
Prepare Your Workspace and Hardware
Before opening the software, set up your physical environment properly to prevent tracking errors:
Use a Stable Surface:
Lay your calibration board flat on a sturdy, non-reflective desk or table. Make sure the directional arrow printed on the board is pointing upward.
Check the Connection:
Connect your scanner directly to your computer using a high-speed USB 3.0 port (wireless connections do not support the calibration workflow).
Lighting Check:
Ensure your room has stable, adequate lighting. Avoid dim spaces or direct, harsh sunlight that can wash out the optical sensors.
Step 2:
Initialize the Calibration in Creality Scan

Follow the Real-Time Pose Guidance
Once the calibration sequence starts, the software will display a live interface featuring a virtual "yellow scanner" guide.
Match the Angles:
Move your physical scanner slowly to match the height, distance, and tilt angles shown on the screen.
Overlap the Models:
When your physical position matches the software's prompt, the virtual scanner and target models will overlap, capturing that specific pose.
Complete the Sequence:
Systematically move through the requested positions (such as vertical sweeps, horizontal passes, and slight 15-degree tilts depending on your specific model). Keep your movements smooth and steady—rapid jerks will cause the step to fail.
Step 4:
Review Your Calibration Score
After cycling through all required positions, the software will automatically process the data.
A calibration score above 90 is generally considered a passing result.
The higher your final score, the better the optical accuracy and data tracking you can expect during your next scanning project.
Expert Tip
Always use the specific glass calibration board that shipped inside your exact scanner's box. Calibration boards are serialized to individual hardware units and are not interchangeable between different scanner models.
