Why are the edges of my Laser Cuts Charred?

Charred edges on laser cuts are typically caused by insufficient air assist, incorrect cutting parameters like slow speeds or excessive power, high resin content in certain woods, and poor exhaust ventilation. You can prevent and fix charring by maximizing air assist pressure, optimizing speed and power settings, using low-resin laser-friendly woods like Baltic birch, ensuring proper exhaust airflow, and applying masking tape to protect the material.
