Can a normal 3D printer print carbon fiber?

Yes, a normal 3D printer can handle carbon fiber-filled filaments, provided you make a few key adjustments to protect your machine and ensure high-quality results. Because carbon fiber is highly abrasive, you must replace your standard brass nozzle with a hardened steel, ruby-tipped, or tungsten nozzle to prevent rapid wear. Additionally, using a 0.6mm nozzle is strongly recommended to minimize the risk of clogs, and you should slow your print speeds to 30–50 mm/s to allow the material to flow consistently. Finally, since these filaments are highly hygroscopic, store them in a sealed, dry environment or use a filament dryer to avoid moisture-related print defects.
