Does filament expire?
Filament does not have a strict expiration date, but it does degrade over time due to moisture absorption. While vacuum-sealed spools can last years, open spools should generally be used within 6 to 12 months.If your filament becomes brittle, snaps easily, or pops during printing, it is likely damp. Fortunately, you can often restore performance using a filament dryer or dehydrator, though severe chemical degradation may eventually require replacing the spool.
